BenQ to Be Renamed Qisda

As a follow-up to an Asia Express dated May 4, Taiwanese BenQ announced that its official English name will be Qisda, standing for Quality, Innovation, Speed, Driving, and Achievements, and its Chinese name was changed from Jia Da to Jias Da. The spun-off BenQ brand will be wholly owned by Qisda, and BenQ's own-branded product lines will not see change, while Qisda is expected to focus on the profitable LCD monitor segment. Both new Chinese and English names will become effective as of September 1, 2007.
